Immediation is a private and confidential online dispute resolution platform, providing a low cost, easy, secure, quick and highly efficient method of resolving commercial disputes as an alternative to long and expensive court processes. Immediation was conceived and designed by Melbourne barrister Laura Keily in response to businesses and individuals seeking access to justice at a reasonable price.

Immediation has been brought to fruition by a team of leading Australian barristers, solicitors and in-house legal counsel who share a deep respect for the rule of law, and an understanding of the practices and processes of dispute resolution and legal technology. Immediation is designed as an alternative to the current system, to enable access to a quick, commercial outcome with a fixed price. The idea is to resolve the dispute amicably and move on, with relationships intact.

Chrysalis Advisory began working with Immediation in 2018 when Founder Laura Keily engaged Nick Northcott to advise on business growth, funding and commercialisation advisory. Nick subsequently joined the board of Immediation and is an investor.

Chrysalis Advisory supported Immediation to achieve the following outcomes:

  • Originating and closing its seed funding round and supporting subsequent Series A capital raising
  • Leveraging this seed funding through a successful Accelerating Commercialisation Grant with AusIndustry
  • The successful completion of a pilot clients programme
  • Winning initial customers and securing first large enterprise client wins and tenders – growing +3000% in 2020
  • Building and attracting the early team and setting up a series of functions including finance, HR, marketing, product and sales
  • Transitioning into commercial operations and sales and de-risking the early-stage company development

Nick worked at Immediation as an Executive Director and Chief Strategy Officer from mid 2018 till September 2021.
